Introduction :
The advanced machining laboratory provides an instructional environment in the areas of manufacturing; materials and processes in manufacturing, metal cutting, tool wear and tool life, surface integrity in machining. Research areas focused on cutting forces and tool wear characteristics in hard turning, surface integrity in orthogonal cutting by recrystallization technique, and drilling accuracy by vision system.

Tribology Lab. is doing research projects on Behaviour Characteristics and Elasto-Hydrodynamic Lubrication(EHL) of Hydraulic Pump. Currently, our lab is focus on Separation of the Vane on Vane Pump, Driving Characteristics according to Delay Angle in Bent-axis type Oil Hydraulic Piston Pump, and EHL analysis in Oil Hydraulic Piston Pump. We always welcome anyone who wants to research on tribology.

Introduction :
The Lab. is focused on the modeling and analysis for the thermal/mass transferfor the efficient thermal processing system. Several funded research projects on Chemical Vapor Deposition was performed. The lab. uses both numerical and experimental method to discover and develop the thermal solutions for the long-term reliability of power LEDs. The Lab. also has a strong interest in developing micro-fluidic components for the thermopneumatic control usually used for micro-actuator and micro-valve control.

The Noise and Vibration Laboratory in Chonbuk National University focuses on the use and development of noise and vibration control technique, smart materials including device design and modeling. Research in the Mechatronics Laboratory is concerned with two fields. One research area is focused on modeling and control of mechanical systems. Specifically, for this research, computational modeling techniques for improving the reliability of computational models to predict dynamic characteristics including dynamic stress of mechanical systems have been investigated. In addition, developing the control system for improving performance of mechanical systems has been studied. The other research area is haptics. The goal of this research is to develop a haptic system, which should reflect faithful contact-force that can be generated while contacting with a virtual environment.
